Technology Integration Activities/Strategies to Support CSIP

Facilitate group activities using electronic resources that address higher order thinking skills.

Teachers can use electronic resources in a way that will encourage and promote cooperative learning and higher level thinking. Several software programs, as well as Internet activities have been designed to use cooperative groups in decision making and problem solving. Tom Snyder carries a program called Reading for Meaning, that can be used in a whole-class environment to teach reading strategies such as main idea, sequencing, cause and effect, etc. The Decisions, Decisions (humanities focus) and The Science Court series require students to gather information, make decisions, and defend their decisions orally. WebQuests are online learning activities. Students work in groups to solve a problem or complete a project.
