Activities/Strategies for Technology Integration in Comprehensive School Improvement Plans

Use visual learning software (Inspiration) for brainstorming, graphic organizers, and webbing.

Have students complete performance tasks (posters, brochures, newsletters, timelines, spreadsheets, etc.) to demonstrate comprehension and higher order thinking skills.

Use multimedia software to create reports and presentations to demonstrate learning.

Develop information literacy using electronic resources that support content in the classroom and strengthen student understanding (media center resources, data bases, and websites such as UEN, Pioneer, T4 and Big6).

Increase teacher use of technology resources in instructional strategies and learning activities to facilitate best practices such as teacher presentations, whole class activities, group activities, simulations, etc.

Facilitate group activities using electronic resources that address higher order thinking skills (WebQuests, multimedia projects, mobile labs, etc.).

Use instructional support staff (TIC, TECH, computer lab assistant, district specialists) to facilitate training, modeling, mentoring, and the implementation of the State Core Curriculum.

Teach keyboarding skills to support student literacy.

Use electronic resources to provide authentic assessment for student performance tasks. Rubric Creation Sites

Use LoTi (Levels of Technology Implementation) data to determine at what level teachers are using technology as a tool of instruction to achieve higher levels of thinking. Plan Professional Development accordingly.

Include technology integration training as a part of CSIP Professional Development.
